CONYERS, Ga. -- A female deputy with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office has been fired for pursuing a relationship with an inmate in the county jail.
Anna Salva, 31, lost her job Wednesday after information about her contact with the inmate was revealed. She was hired by the sheriff's office in 2009 and began working at the jail in July 2011.
"This is a situation that we take very seriously," Rockdale County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Scott Freeman said. "These types of relationships are strictly prohibited and are detrimental to the safe and efficient operations of the Rockdale County Jail."
