CONYERS, Ga. -- Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) announces the return of the Great American Cleanup (GAC) on Saturday, Apr. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Pine Log Park Pavilion, 1500 Ga. Highway 138, Conyers.

The half-day event, which KCRB hosts in partnership with the City of Conyers and Rockdale County government, encourages citizens to pick up garbage, tires and other debris around the community, and teaches youth about the importance of litter prevention and recycling as much of the materials collected as possible.

KCRB invites civic and neighborhood groups, businesses, Boy and Girl Scout troops, churches, youth groups, individuals, and families to participate in GAC. Volunteers are encouraged to send a representative from their group to the park’s pavilion to check in and pick up supplies beginning at 9 a.m. on the day of the cleanup.

Registration is available at www.rockdalecounty.org. Registration forms also can be emailed to kcrb@rockdalecounty.org or dropped off at the County’s Administration and Services Building, 958 Milstead Ave., Conyers, 30012. The deadline to register is Friday, Apr. 3.

Through public-private partnerships and strategic alliances with citizens, businesses and government, KCRB's efforts each year motivate hundreds of volunteers to clean up, beautify and improve Conyers-Rockdale, thereby creating safer, more livable environments. Last year, nearly 200 volunteers participated in GAC by sprucing up local roadways, subdivisions, commercial properties, parks, schools, and illegal dumpsites across Rockdale.

All cleaning supplies – garbage bags, gloves and brightly-colored safety vests – will be provided to volunteers at no charge. Volunteers will also receive free food and a T-shirt for participating while supplies last.
