CONYERS, Ga. -- For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we've compiled a list of the best summer camps for your children, this year.

YMCA Centers are the nation’s largest provider of child care services and there are a number of YMCA centers around the metro area. According to their website, YMCA’s provide “family-centered, values-based programs” and they support the “physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of children”. Camp charges vary depending on if membership. Check them out online and find your neighborhood center.

Aspiring athletes are all rushing to Elite Hoops Basketball camps around the city. The Elite Hoops will be directing NIKE Basketball Camps across the southeast for players entering grades 3-10.

ATLANTA -- The weather is finally getting warmer, which means it's the perfect time to visit one of the many pools in Metro Atlanta.

The 11Alive Web Team has compiled a list of public pools located throughout North Georgia:

Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry and South Fulton Counties

RUTLEDGE, Ga. – Who knew a state park, had so many attractions in such a small town? Who knew you could have big fun for little funds about 40 miles outside of the "big city"? The folks at Hard Labor State Park have figured out a way. Tucked away in quaint Rutledge, the park is best known for its golf course; however, it has many exciting attractions including a beach, boat rental, canoeing, pedal boating, campgrounds, a full stocked stable and 22 miles of equestrian trails.

The 18-hole-golf course is described as “beautiful and challenging” the green fee Monday-Thursday is $36, Friday it’s $46 and on weekends and holidays the fee is $45. The fee includes a golf cart. Call ahead for tee times.

Aside from golf, for families the parks biggest attraction is their lakeside beach. The “swimming beach” opens, next weekend, on May 14. The beach is free to park visitors who have already paid their $5 parking charge.

CONYERS, Ga. -- In honor of all the loyal patrons who kept the restaurant afloat during these tough times, the owner of the Dairy Queen in Conyers is holding a Customer Appreciation Day this weekend.

Dairy Queen guests will enjoy half-price treats all day on Saturday, Apr. 16.

"We thought we would do something different to help the Atlanta families out in this economy and enjoy a night out with the family," said Keish Momin, owner operator of the Conyers Dairy Queen.

Attendees will also get a chance to play Dunk the Mayor and Dunk the County Commissioner, participate in a banana split-eating contest, and enjoy other family-friend activities, such as face painting.

Customer Appreciation Day will take place at the Conyers Dairy Queen (1235 Dogwood Drive SW) only.

Parents may register for Pre-K until April 1

Parents may register for Pre-K until April 1

CONYERS, Ga. -- Conyers parents wishing to enroll their children into Pre-K have until next week, to do so. Registration is open to students who will turn 5 years old by September 1, 2011. Parents can register their student from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday until April 1st.

To register parents must supply the school district with: the Student’s birth certificate with parents’ names, Student’s Social Security card, Form 3300 — Eye/Ear/Dental Certificate, Form 3231 — Certificate of Immunization, Parent’s photo ID, Proof of custody or guardianship if person enrolling child is not the birth parent, Proof of residence: Lease agreement or property tax receipt with an automobile registration or electric, water or gas bill.

Pre-K registration is being held at 1143 West Avenue in Conyers.

Tykes, Tots & Teens Consignment Sale at Georgia International Horse Park

CONYERS – This weekend, the Tykes, Tots & Teens Consignment Sale will be held at the Georgia International Horse Park beginning on Saturday, February 26th. This annual sale, is open, daily, until March 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The sale features famous labels like Ralph Lauren, Janie and Jack, Izod, Strasburg  Children and GAP kids.

Tykes, Tots & Teens Consignment Sales (TTT) was founded in the spring of 2006 and was originally held in Old Town Conyers for three seasons. TTT is now the largest seasonal consignment sale across many local counties and was voted "Best Consignment Sale in Atlanta" by consignmentmommies.com. This year, TTT is opening 800 consignor slots and they are continuing to grow.

Consigners are given 70% of all sales and are permitted to pre-sale items on Friday, February 25th from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
