Most of the state is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert Monday morning as rain and storms sweep through Georgia.

One county -- Haralson, on the Georgia-Alabama border -- is under a flash flood warning until noon Monday.

Other portions of the metro experienced heavy rains, swollen creeks, downed trees and, in a few cases, power outages.

GEMA's 'Ready Georgia' campaign prepares residents for severe storms

(WXIA) -- Severe Weather Awareness week began on Monday, and Georgia Emergency Management Agency has organized a campaign to help Georgians get ready for what storms could hit neighborhoods.

The campaign has been named Ready Georgia, and helps people prepare for the possibility of strong winds, tornadoes and flooding, a spokeswoman said. Even small things, like securing outdoor objects and getting rid of dead tree branches can make a difference.

According to the spokeswoman, Georgians may not realize how dangerous thunderstorms can be, because they are so common to local areas.

Severe Weather Forecast for Tonight and Monday!

Severe Weather Forecast for Tonight and Monday!

Our pleasant weekend weather pattern is about to change.  A trough in the jetstream to our north will direct a series of disturbances through the area tonight and tomorrow.  The Storm Prediction Center out of Norman, Oklahoma has forecast a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for Monday.  We will likely see two rounds of Thunderstorms which could turn severe.  The first one will hit overnight and into tomorrow morning the second round will move in later in the day.  Expect damaging winds up to 60 mph and large hair if these Thunderstorms turn severe.

Crazy Blue Line, What is it??

Crazy Blue Line, What is it??

First and foremost we have strong storms across N Georgia tonight. As of 1am nothing is severe, but don't be surprised if another warning pops up tonight..... That last storm in Forsyth and Hall was on its way down when the NWS issued the warning, I doubt there will be any reports of damage from it. We can expect storms to continue to propagate towards the south tonight, but the main source of energy is now gone.... Which is what this blog is all about.
